Lupinus perennis - Wild Lupine
Wild Lupine (Lupinus perennis) is a showy perennial legume that enhances the soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen into a useful form. Its leaves are palmately divided into 7 - 11 leaflets and surround the flowering stems. Its pea-like blue and purple flowers bloom in a raceme along the top of its low-growing stems. After bloom, seedpods form and when ripe they tend to "explode" to help with its seed distribution. It is a host plant for the federally endangered Karner Blue Butterfly, which is native to the Great Lakes region.

Returns of standard seed mixes and individual species must be made in the original unopened packaging within 10 days of delivery. If you wish to return live plants, you must do so within 5 days of delivery. Returns of standard mixes, individual species, and live plants are subject to a restocking fee of 25%. Custom seed mixes may not be returned. When returning non-damaged goods, the buyer is responsible for shipping charges, and return shipping may be made by whatever means the buyer selects.
