Anemone patens - Pasque Flower
Pasque Flower (Anemone patens) is a very low growing perennial wildflower that produces delicate purple flowers that bloom before the leaves emerge. Other desirable qualities of the Pasque Flower are its attractive furry leaves that remain well into the summer and its height being typically less than a foot tall. It is one of the first wildflowers to bloom in the spring, often sprouting while there is still snow on the ground, and can be found on south facing slopes in dry to average sandy soil.
