Monarda fistulosa - Wild Bergamot
Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) is a popular showy perennial in the mint family. Its light green stem is four-angled, hairless, and branches frequently in the upper half. It has opposite, broadly ovate leaves that are aromatic with smells of mint or oregano. At the top of major stems are rounded, lavender flowerheads that resemble pompoms, and form showy "button" seedheads through the winter. It has long been used for a variety of medicinal purposes, and its leaves have commonly been used for making tea.

Monarda is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family with approximately 15 different species only found in North America. The species includes annuals and perennials with tubular flowers that have a narrow upper lip and wider lower lip. The flower heads are typically crowded with leafy bracts, and varies in color from red, pink, and lavender depending on the species. The crushed leaves of all species gives off a spicy, fragrant essential oil, and several species have been used by Native Americans as medicinal plants due to its natural source of the antiseptic compound thymol.
Returns of standard seed mixes and individual species must be made in the original unopened packaging within 10 days of delivery. If you wish to return live plants, you must do so within 5 days of delivery. Returns of standard mixes, individual species, and live plants are subject to a restocking fee of 25%. Custom seed mixes may not be returned. When returning non-damaged goods, the buyer is responsible for shipping charges, and return shipping may be made by whatever means the buyer selects.

The seed labels show independent lab testing results, and the absence of weed seed is not represented or guaranteed. It makes no warranties, expressed or implied, of merchantability, fitness for purpose, or otherwise, which would extend beyond such descriptions. Allendan Seed Company further limits to the purchase price any liability of any kind on account of any negligence whatsoever on its part with respect to such seed or plants.
